| My Precious Friend,
Healing from the horrors of sexual abuse is often a lifetime effort. Satan wants us to throw in the towel and turn our back on God. He wants us to think that God is not interested in the wounds we suffered at the hands of another. But, we all know Satan is a liar and we can receive healing. One of my favorite-recording artists is Sandi Patty. Sandi too experienced the woe of childhood sexual abuse and started dealing with her wounds several years ago. Like many of us, she got off course in her walk with the Lord and made some mistakes. However, she has publicly confessed her wrongs and received God's forgiveness and favor once again. On her album, "Find It On the Wings," she recorded several songs about healing from abuse, but one stands out to me. The words of that chorus are: when I see, when I know that my time has come. When I can feel the sun again, now the morning light's my friend, when the ash is a flame. When I heal!" God promised us that He will make beauty from ashes, and every promise He gave us is true.
