42. Secrets

God, secrets have done me well in my past. They have protected me, and given me solace when I found people would not understand what happened to me, and how I allowed something to happen to me as a child who was bound by secrets to protect. I protected someone who didn't need protecting, while giving myself to pain that would be important to understand was/is not my direct choice and never was my direct choice. If the perpetrator had never bothered me, I would have been an innocent for all my life, and lived a much less complicated life. Secrets protect the perpetrator, much more than they protect me. Creator when I need to speak, give me strength.
