The Founders

We are Roger and Sharon Sanderson. We feel this is our scripture because we feel that for too long hurting people (especially divorced people) have been treated much like ex-prisoners in the church. It is our goal to see the local church provide discipleship for struggling individuals and couples, as well as their families, and help them understand God's heart and God's purpose for their lives; as well as incorporate them into leadership roles within the local church.
We know - we have been there - done that; even in this marriage. Although we have been married for ten years, we have separated twice. In May of 1997, the divorce papers were in the Judge's chambers when the Lord told me I was to go back to Roger and love him. I wasn't ready to hear that, but I obeyed. God blessed.

We see daily that the woes of the world have infiltrated the church. Christians who were once strong in their walk with God are beginning to falter and fail. We believe this is one of many instruments Satan is using to cripple the church and its ministry to the lost and hurting. Praise God, Satan is defeated when we allow God to use our pain for His gain and stop hiding behind false pride.

We strongly believe that God allows suffering in our lives to help us relate to Jesus Christ and the suffering He went through on our behalf. However, God wants His children - His Body - whole! If we will take our wounds of existence and allow Jesus to begin His healing work in our life He can then use all of our woes as wonderful opportunities for witnessing and send Satan. s demons back to the abyss.

The Lord has purposed that His children be about the ministry of reconciliation. People become discouraged when they have no vision of Christ. s purpose for their life. Proverbs 29:18 states, "Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (KJV)" I, Sharon, believe that verse goes hand in hand with Proverbs 13:12 which states, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when dreams come true, there is life and joy." People's dreams have been destroyed by Satan and it is time to take back what the enemy has stolen!

In my experience I have seen that far too often preachers are not pastors. They are busy preaching and teaching, but doing very little ministry. It is therefore vital that every member of the church recognize their purpose in His creation, walking in the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and pastor one another and let the preachers preach. Then and only then will we be the Body of Christ

The sins of the fathers have reached epidemic proportions in society as well as the church. No one will escape problems and suffering in this life. However, many people think Christians will escape problems. This is a lie. God was Father to Adam and Eve . they fell. Correct teaching is essential for hurting people. When walk with hurting Christians and help them understand that suffering is a fact of life and that the suffering they walk through will help them take on the characteristics of Jesus - hope returns! As they learn more about Jesus, taking the Word of God into their Spirit, they too become ministers of hope.

For many years, I felt and heard God calling me to minister hope to hurting people, and to encourage the oppressed, but I felt unequipped for so great an undertaking. However, when a friend ministered to me I recognized that people do not care what degrees we have. People don. t care how much we know they simply want to know how much we care.

Roger supports me in the ministry and unites with me in ministry to couples. We have a Board and a Pastor who holds me accountable. According to the standards of the world we are not credible, but we represent an incredible God. So, now, without a doubt, we know God has called. We want to present to you the same hope we found in Jesus and encourage you to allow the Holy Spirit so His work in you to turn your woes to wows!
