Divorce is not a Dirty Word
Since you have been raised to new life
with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits
at God's right hand in the place of honor and power. Let heaven fill your
thoughts. Do not think only about things down here on earth. For you died
when Christ died, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And
when Christ, who is your real life, is revealed to the whole world, you
will share in all his glory.
Do you know that in God's eyes you are perfect? Yes, you are! You are covered with the blood of Christ — therefore, you are perfect! Does that mean you can continue to just sin and sin and sin? No way, God has a plan for your life!
Most of us do not realize that God really does have a plan for our lives. I grew up thinking that I was a nothing and consequently, I behaved like a nothing. I had no goals. I even thought that I would never live to be fifty! Well, was I shocked when the new century came around and realized that I will be fifty in October!
I look back now and realize that God was molding me into becoming the person I am becoming now — a person who understands people who hurt. I understand what it feels like to be misunderstood and rejected. Now, that probably does very little to relieve the pain you are feeling, but would it help to know that Jesus knows all of that too?
God wants you to know that you can change your thoughts about yourself and you can change your thoughts about other people, but only God can change people. In order to become all that God wants you to become you must learn to trust Him. If you are like me trust is like a four— letter word, but He wants that four-letter word to be love.
Lord, I really want to trust You more. I want to know what plan you have for my life. Right now I feel like a failure. I feel like a little baby who knows very little about life. All the people and things in my life that I trusted have failed me. Please help me make a fresh start and to believe that You are with me. I need You.
