Divorce is not a Dirty Word
O LORD, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I will never pray to anyone but you. Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:1-3
As we talked about last week, there are times when you really need someone to hear you. By now, the full effect of your divorce has really hit you hard if you haven't reached out for help.
Many, many churches today offer Divorce Recovery groups and they are very helpful. There is no sense in trying to go through this alone when there are other people going through the same thing. No one will push you into anything, they will allow you to travel this road at the speed you need to travel. However, you will learn that other people have much of the same feelings and problems that you are going through.
Remember what I said last week…God is always there. God knows your needs. God knows your pain. He too has been rejected and deserted. He also knows that through this storm in your life, you will gain strength if you wait on Him.
Seek Him daily. Seek Him early. Seek Him consistently. Be real before Him. He knows you anyway. He is there.
Father, guide me today. I realize I cannot make it on my own through this journey. Please send me a friend that will let me talk – one who will listen and still love me. Guard my heart so I will not think I'm falling in love…it's way, way too early for that. Please help me remember that too.
