Divorce is not a Dirty Word
I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer. Show the wonder of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 17:6-8
One of the things that helped me deal with my pain and anger was reading the Psalms. It is through these many prayers of David, pouring his heart out to God, that I truly learned to pray.
God sincerely wants us to tell him everything. Don't you love it when your children are honest with you about their pain and frustration? For me, one of the most rewarding things as a parent is to know that my children feel comfortable talking to me about anything.
If I feel this way and all I did was carry these children within my womb, how must God feel when we are open and honest with Him? He see us. He knows what our thoughts are before we ever think them. So, why do we try to hide or run from Him? Personally, I think it is because Satan fills our minds with lies about how God feels about people who divorce.
That is far from true. According to this scripture, we are the apple of His eye. I think that means He loves us and takes great pleasure in us.
Go ahead. Take time today to write your thoughts to God on the followings lines. You will find that lightening won't strike you. Instead, you just might feel the power of God's embrace around your heart.
