Divorce is not a Dirty Word
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy31:6
As I thought about, prayed about, and searched for a special scripture for today, I ran across this one three times. (Deuteronomy 1:26; 31:6, and Joshua 1:6) When these things happen, I know God is doing something.
It takes courage to grow through a divorce. There are times you will feel like going to bed and pulling the cover over your head. At other times you may want to go out and do something as crazy as your ex has done. But friend, as today's verse says, "be strong." God truly has plans for you. He knows the big picture. He knows what is in the future if you will simply trust Him with today.
I don't think I could live another day if I did not believe with all my heart that God plans to take the mistakes I have made and use them somehow to help others and in the process glorify His name.
I am no better or more spiritual than you are. I am simply a person who has experienced deep emotional pain. I have doubted God. I have lost faith. Even with all of those things ...God never left me. When He promises that He will always be there ¾ you can believe it.
You are truly precious in His sight. Have a good day trusting Him to guide you through each moment.
