Divorce is not a Dirty Word

Week Seven Day Six

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

When was the last time you sincerely praised the Lord? One of the marvelous things about being grateful for his mercy is to be free and praise Him. He truly loves praise, don't you? He is the "Father of compassion" and extends Him hand to us constantly and consistently. Yet, to feel His hand is at times virtually impossible.

Therefore, His system is to love through us. Could it be then that He forgives through us? We comfort others with His love when we set them free of our bitterness toward them. That, in turn releases God to offer us even more comfort.

As you began the stages of your divorce did you need comfort and support? Did you receive any? If you did pass it on. If you didn't, learn how to comfort those around you and you will also be comforted.

We share in the sufferings of Christ when we are rejected. I honestly can't think of a more painful life situation to describe the experience of rejection than divorce. Can you?

Just know today that God loves you. He is there to comfort you. Relax and experience it.
