All scripture taken from the Message Bible
The other day I was praying with a group of women for one of our church members. She has been going through a rough time with all kind of things coming against her and she said she had just about lost all hope of ever getting past it all.
As we were praying I saw in my spirit a rope and there were hands hanging on to this rope. The person was losing their grip and cried out desperately to God. "Oh God I'm about to fall, please God help me I can't hang on any longer!" Then I heard the Lord say, "Let go because when you do I will catch you." He also said, "By faith when you let go of that rope of self-help, you will fall into my arms of grace and mercy."
1 Peter 4:12-13 TMSG; Friends, when life gets really difficult, don't jump to the conclusion that God isn't on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner. No matter what you are going through, whether it be trials, suffering or temptation. God is an ever present help in time of trouble.
Psalm 143:1; 5-7 TMSG; Listen to this prayer of mine, God; pay attention to what I'm asking. Answer me—you're famous for your answers...I remembered the old days, went over all you've done, pondered the ways you've worked, Stretched out my hands to you, as thirsty for you as a desert thirsty for rain. Hurry with your answer, God! I'm nearly at the end of my rope. Don't turn away; don't ignore me! That would be certain death.
There are many things that you do want to hang on to as a life line. To name a few, is your belief that Christ died on the cross to save you from your sins. God is your strength, Your purpose in life, an ever present help.
Self tries to do things in our own strength. Life in its devastating effects bites us in the rear, and we react to the hurt by looking for a bandage to cover the wound. When all the time we have a God who is able to heal and deliver us, if we would only trust Him to do so and call upon His name.
Father in heaven I pray that we will learn to put our trust in you. You are faithful even when we're not. All it takes is a cry for help and we can know and trust that your ears are attentative to our plea. Lord, I thank You for being my dream come true!
In His Love
