HOPE FOR THE FUTURE!

Don't envy sinners, but always continue to fear the Lord. For surely you have a future ahead of you; your hope will not be disappointed.
Proverbs 23:17-18

Well, if you have been receiving the devotionals for a while you know about the Trust Steps. You know that God taught me that if I am going to make it through the storms in my life I must keep my eyes on Jesus. He has the same message for you.

From the moment Roger and I married Satan has been busy trying to tear us apart and destroy us through our finances. We live right in the middle of some very prosperous people. As a result, from time to time I am tempted to look at their prosperity and wonder why we aren't as richly blessed as they are. Well, that is wrong! I don't know their future any better than I know mine except for one thing – my treasures are laid up in Heaven.

We cannot look at what other people do or do not have if we are going to do what the Lord has called us to do. He has a future planned for us and it is only attained by keeping our eyes on Him.

Although I have read the Proverbs every month for the past four or five years, this is the first time this verse stood out for me. It states what the Lord told Jeremiah, that He has a future planned for us – a future full of hope! Wow, I don't know about you but I need to hear that every day!

No matter where you are, no matter what is going on in your life, God has a plan and much hope for your future. Yesterday is gone – we've got to put that behind us and press on into the future of hope! Let's go folks. It may be a bumpy road but the journey to joy is full of hope!

Father, please forgive us when we take our eyes off of Your plan and start looking at the plan You have for people around us. I praise You that You are a "one on one" Father and You treat each one of us differently. Sometimes that frustrates me and I need the reminders planted throughout Your Word! I receive this one today and look forward to that future of hope! I love You Lord!

Hope you were encouraged.
Please come back often.
