O Lord, I have so many enemies;
so many are against me.
So many are
saying, "God will never rescue him!"
Interlude
But you, O Lord, are a
shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts my head high.
I cried
out to the Lord,
and he answered me from his holy
mountain.
Interlude
I lay down and slept.
I woke up in safety,
for
the Lord was watching over me.
I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies
who surround me on every side.
Arise, O Lord! Rescue me, my God!
Slap all my enemies in the face!
Shatter the teeth of the wicked!
Victory comes from you, O Lord.
May your blessings rest on your
people.
Interlude
Psalm 3
Very few people I know have what the world considers real enemies. Yet, everyone I know who is traveling on this pilgrimage to experience God's will in their lives have many enemies' – Satan's demons. We are in warfare constantly.
As you go about your day today, whether that is going to church, shopping, watching the ballgame, or spending time with friends – remember God is with you and quite able to handle your enemies. He is a shield about you when you ask for His help. Of course, in order to receive this help fully we must never forget to "interlude" with Him!
Father, I praise You and thank You for being my interlude.
