WHO DOES GOOD?

Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God."
They are corrupt, and their actions are evil;
no one does good!
The Lord looks down from heaven
on the entire human race;
he looks to see if there is even one with real understanding,
one who seeks for God.
But no, all have turned away from God;
all have become corrupt.
No one does good, not even one!
Will those who do evil never learn?
They eat up my people like bread;
they wouldn't think of praying to the Lord.
Terror will grip them,
for God is with those who obey him.
The wicked frustrate the plans of the oppressed,
but the Lord will protect his people.
Oh, that salvation would come from Mount Zion to rescue Israel!
For when the Lord restores his people,
Jacob will shout with joy, and Israel will rejoice.
Psalm 14

God has restored us through the person of Jesus Christ. We are regenerated through the power of the Holy Spirit! That is worth shouting "Hallelujah" people. However, even though God has provided those things for us ¾ have we received?

Tommy Tenney has written some awesome books on seeking God. Yet, I think some people are seeking the thrill of God more than they are actually seeking God. I really believe that there are very few people who are really seeking God from a pure heart. I believe, in many cases, that the truth of the statement that, "No one does good, not even one!" remains true today.

When we get to the place that we can love God's people without condemning them when they fall we might be doing good. When we get to the place where we seek God as intensely in private as we do in public we might be doing good.

Wow! Aren't you glad we have grace?

Father, as we come to Your house to worship this morning we come with a spirit of repentance recognizing that we haven't "done good." We need You more today Lord than we needed You yesterday. We have started to depend on our goodness instead of Your mercy! Help us worship You this morning in the Spirit of truth!

Hope you were encouraged.
Please come back often.
