THE HEART OF WORSHIP

People may think they are doing what is right, but the LORD examines the heart.
The LORD is more pleased when we do what is just and right than when we give him sacrifices.
Proverbs 21:2-3

One of my favorite praise and worship songs is The Heart of Worship. The words are:

For a song in itself is not what you have required

I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it

King of endless worth no one could express
How much You deserve
Though I'm weak and poor all I have is Yours
Every single breath.
I'll bring you more than a song

I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You It's all about You Jesus.

It is not about us — it's all about Him! Practice this and see if it doesn't make a difference in your day!

Oh, King of endless worth, we come to You and ask You to examine our heart. Show us any hidden agendas we may have that is preventing us from coming up higher with You. We need more of You Lord — and less of us!
