YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE

And the Lord replied, "I will personally go with you, Moses. I will give you rest — everything will be fine for you."
Then Moses said, "If you don't go with us personally, don't let us move a step from this place. If you don't go with us, how will anyone ever know that your people and I have found favor with you? How else will they know we are special and distinct from all other people on the earth?"
And the Lord replied to Moses, "I will indeed do what you have asked, for you have found favor with me, and you are my friend."
Exodus 33:14-17

When a person is in a leadership position it isn't unusual for them to feel alone. Apparently Moses knew this feeling well. He was leading thousands of people to their promised destiny, but he felt alone. Most of us do not like traveling alone and something we like even less is traveling with someone we don't particularly like.

Moses' relationship with God was so personal that he didn't mind asking God the tough questions — getting in His face — so to speak. He had the spiritual fortitude necessary to not only ask God, but to expect an answer from him and he got it.

God hungers for us to know Him and understand Him, but it ain't gonna happen spending ten minutes a day with Him. Remember, Moses was camped out on that mountain for forty days and nights. You can't spend that much "alone time" with someone and not be intimately acquainted. I mean, after all, there were no TVs or computers on the mountain!

We are embarking on the ten-year anniversary of the ministry. Being the sole "vision holder" has often been quite lonely and there were times I wanted to give up, but God gave me a few friends to "travel with me." There were many times that I refused to take one step further without absolute leadership by the Holy Spirit and it has paid off.

Moses recognized that he had found favor with God. Although I don't think he completely understood what that meant until he actually started walking in it. Until we actually take those steps that God has orchestrated for us we will not recognize His favor.

God showed me several years ago that walking in His favor is much like receiving party favors. Unless we show up for the party — we don't get the favor. We must be walking in the steps He ordained for us to know the intensity of His favor. Moses learned and we can too.

Father, we want a closer walk with You. We want to know that every step we take is the step You have for us to take. We can't walk alone! Thank You for bringing to mind that precious song, "You'll Never Walk Alone." Help us hold our head high through these storms knowing that You are with us and we will indeed never walk alone!

Hope you were encouraged.
Please come back often.
