PRAISE THE LORD!

Praise the Lord!
Yes, give praise, O servants of the Lord.
Praise the name of the Lord!
Blessed be the name of the Lord
forever and ever.
Everywhere — from east to west —
praise the name of the Lord.
For the Lord is high above the nations;
his glory is far greater than the heavens.
Who can be compared with the Lord our God,
who is enthroned on high?
Far below him are the heavens and the earth.
He stoops to look, and he lifts the poor from the dirt
and the needy from the garbage dump.
He sets them among princes,
even the princes of his own people!
He gives the barren woman a home,
so that she becomes a happy mother.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 113

God deserves our praise. His name is blessed forever and ever. We cannot imagine the fire of His glory. Oh, we sing about His glory. We talk about giving Him glory, but He is glory!

Today is a day when many people will praise God for their mothers. On the other hand, many people are grieving because their mother is no longer on this earth. At the same time, there are numerous people who are estranged from their mothers. And, let's not forget those precious women whose arms hunger to hold a baby and be called mother.

Mother's Day is one of those days that conjures up conflicting emotions in many people for various reasons. I remember my mama and would love to sit at a table, drink a cup of coffee, and apologize for not understanding her while I had the opportunity. Yet, today, if at all possible, I will wear a white rose in her honor and reflect on all that she taught me.

It is an honor to be a mom. God wants us to get a grasp of that. Let's not take it for granted. If you are a mom whose children will not honor you ¾ I understand how you feel. However, we still need to praise the Lord because the story isn't over. He has only just begun. If you are a mom whose child has gone on to be with the Lord and your arms ache ¾ hold those arms up in praise today and ask the Lord to hold you.

If He can reach into the spiritual garbage dumps and lift up the needy into His arms, He can definitely lift us up and hold us until we are with our children again ¾ face to face in His Presence.

Have a great Sunday honoring your mother, taking a break for yourself, and worshiping Your Lord!

Father, we praise You because You know the beginning from the end. We thank You for our mothers, for the opportunity to be mothers, and for the faith to know that there will come a time that the hurting in our heart for our children will end when we see You face to face!

Hope you were encouraged.
