DECEIVING LOOKS

When they arrived, Samuel took one look at Eliab and thought, "Surely this is the LORD'S anointed!"
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Don't judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn't make decisions the way you do! People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at a person's thoughts and intentions."
1 Samuel 16:6-7

Have you ever had to deal with a tormenting spirit. I have and believe me it ain't no fun! Oh, it gets better. Anytime God begins preparing us for promotion, we will receive a counter offer that is a genuine counterfeit of what God has planned for us. Although I know that in my Spirit, there have been times, when I was walking in the flesh and was tempted to run where it would be easy to walk in places that looked exactly like the vision God gave me.

This ministry has come so close to that vision at times I could almost reach out and touch it, but time and time again the plans would fall through. Each time, when the plans would fall through, and the truth hit, I wanted to just cry because of how quickly it was taken away. Well, God would prepare me for this. "Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest. (Psalm 126:5-6)"

Too many times I am judged by my outward appearance…I am short…chubby…and need some dental work. Now, several years ago, some of that wasn't true…I didn't need much dental work…LOL! Still, I wasn't a contender for Miss America ¾ I never was. However, even if I do say so myself, I'm a good speaker, God gave me the gift, but apparently, it wasn't, and it isn't time for Him to use me in that area. It may never be. It just may be that once I've passed from this world my writings will linger.

Father, we cannot comprehend the pure love You have for us. Your guidance and leadership are to be treasured far above silver and gold. Help each of us today to not judge by outward appearance of anyone, but to look at the inward spirit of anyone we come in contact with and love them as You love us.

Hope you were encouraged.
