IN LOVE WITH JESUS!

You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him, you trust him; and even now you are happy with a glorious, inexpressible joy. Your reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.
This salvation was something the prophets wanted to know more about. They prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you, even though they had many questions as to what it all could mean. They wondered what the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ's suffering and his great glory afterward. They wondered when and to whom all this would happen.
They were told that these things would not happen during their lifetime, but many years later, during yours. And now this Good News has been announced by those who preached to you in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.
1 Peter 1:8-12

I will never forget the day the Lord told me that He wanted me to love Him more. I was driving to work about ten years ago when I felt this need to love Him even more than I had loved any man I had ever loved or had a "crush" on. The Holy Spirit educated me on just how hungry God was for my love. Soon after that I really began to fall in love with Jesus. I wanted to know what pleased Him.

Then, as I pondered on that I mean I was consumed with love for my Savior. Even Peter was amazed that we could love someone that we had never seen. It really doesn't make much sense to the world that we could even think about loving someone we had only heard about. Yet, what they don't understand is that He reveals Himself to us through the power of the Holy Spirit and this love is supernatural.

When was the last time you really pondered your love for Jesus? Well, I hope when the weekend comes you will take the time to get alone with Him and just let that love come to you and then give it back to Him. You will soon find yourself thinking a little differently about Christmas!

I know, I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but it's not too soon to start preparing; after all, the stores are already getting reading. May this Christmas find us falling in love again – rekindling the love we have – or even renewing the vows we have taken in living out His love in our lives!

Oh, Jesus, how can we ever thank You enough for Your love? You are truly amazing. I praise You and thank You for the love You placed in my heart. I recommit my life to be Your hands extended to those around me. You are my light and my life!

Hope you were encouraged.
Please come back often.
