LOVE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

"So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples."
John 13:34-35

As I sit here, I can faintly hear the voices of children singing in the back of my mind, "Praise Him, Praise Him, all ye little children, God is love, God is love. Praise Him, Praise Him, all ye little children, God is love, God is love!"

Do you ever wonder what pleases God most? I do. I want my life to please and praise Him. More and more I am learning that Micah's message to the people of his day remains true to this day. Micah 6:6-8 proclaims, "What can we bring to the Lord to make up for what we've done? Should we bow before God with offerings of yearling calves? Should we offer him thousands of rams and tens of thousands of rivers of olive oil? Would that please the Lord? Should we sacrifice our first-born children to pay for the sins of our souls? Would that make him glad? No, O people, the Lord has already told you what is good, and this is what he requires: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."

As a mother, nothing pleases me more than to see my children (or today my grandchildren) cooperating with each other, communicating with each other, and reaching out to help each other. I don't think God is too much different than that. Oh, that today we will go and do likewise!

Father, help families this week to look beyond their differences of clothes and the hairstyles, and help us just look for You!

Hope you were encouraged.
